What do you think about this. Its an excerpt from my book I’m currently writing)?
“Its time,” a voice whispered over the blaring music. “It’s time, the voice whispered loudly into Remy’s gold painted ears. The auditory sensation of the blasting boom box ceased. The sound of conversations and dialog shared between people in their masquerade masks were put on mute. A girl with a peacock feather mask threw her head back laughing with a boy wearing a bright yellow and red face mask. Remy inched toward them hoping to hear their ripple of crackling laughter. But no sound wave hit the insides of Remy’s ears, only the waves of trepidation attacked her feeble ears. Suddenly the girl and boy froze as if they were playing an insider round of red light green light. Remy felt her heart race as she took a step back in awe yet in terror. “Its time Remy,” the eerie mouse whisper said suddenly becoming a bellowing tiger. Spreading like the Bubonic plague, all the masquerade party-goers froze at the drop of a pin.
A bit confusing and hard to follow. I’d include more details of where this place is and what these characters look like. But besides that it’s very vivid and I instantly want to know what happens next.
