Does anyone want to measure a Barbie for me?
So, I’m doing some research to debunk the “myth” that Barbie Dolls have unrealistic body proportions. Most of the research that I find is false, claiming that the vintage measurements are modern and whatnot. So, does anyone have access to a current Barbie doll, perhaps a I Can Be, that they could measure and post the results here as your “answer”? If you have one of the younger versions, like Skipper and whatever the other ones are, those would also be helpful.
Finally, if anyone posts a response with those bogus 39-18-33 measurements they get online, I will give you a low rating, report you if necessary, and encourage anyone who reads this to do the same. If you don’t want to help me, then ignore this entire post and move on.
Barbie:
height: 12″
chest: 6″
waist: 3.75″
hip: 5″
If we scale her to be 6 feet tall, her measurements scale to 36 x 22.5 x 30.
If we scale her to be 5′6″ tall, her measurements scale to 33×20.6×27.5
If we scale her to be 5′ tall, her measurements scale to 30×18.75×25
None of those are even vaguely realistic. Report me all you want.
